Before we start with the infromation on this page I would just like to say R.I.P Ste Downey who sadly passed away on the 3rd April 2014. Another Netherley legend who I will always be proud to call my friend. My thoughts go out to your family at this sad time xxx

About Netherley

On the eastern fringe of Liverpool, flanked by golf courses and close to fields and countryside yet within easy reach of the city centre, Netherley combines urban living with an open, green ambience. Outdoor attractions

There are some superb outdoor amenities in the area around Netherley, including the magnificent 30-acre Knowsley Safari Park, around four miles to the north. To the west of the Safari Park is Croxteth Hall and Country Park, one of the finest heritage sites in the north west. Set in beautiful woodlands, it includes a working farm and a Victorian walled garden. And to the east, Sherdley Park offers over 200 acres of parkland, formal gardens, woods, a lake, a play area and a popular Pet’s Corner.

Entertainment
The popular Valley Community Theatre, produces shows ranging from Shakespeare to pantomime and musicals. There is a delightful traditional cinema in Woolton Village, around a mile and a half away, and a larger multi-screen complex at Edge Lane Retail Park, where there is also a bowling alley. Even closer, the fine art collection at Sudley House provides a relaxing way to spend a day.

Sport and leisure
Nearby golf facilities include Lee Park Golf Club and Childwall Golf Club, with its magnificent art deco clubhouse, and a covered floodlit golf driving range . There is a swimming pool around a 2 miles away at Huyton Leisure and another at Halewood Leisure Centre, where there is also a comprehensive range of fitness and sports facilities.

Shopping
Less than a mile away is Belle Vale Shopping Centre, and a Morrisons super store

Health care
There is a small health centre and a pharmacy in Middlemass Hey, and a second in nearby Belle Vale Road. There are also four dental surgeries within a mile of the development, two of them situated within the Belle Vale Shopping Centre.

Transport
Just two miles from the intersection of the M57 and M62 motorways,Netherley is convenient for travel throughout the north west. Central Liverpool, Warrington and St Helens are within easy reach and even Manchester is within commuting range. Huyton train station, less than two miles away, provides services to Manchester, Warrington and central Liverpool. John Lennon Airport is four miles away

Education

Norman Pannell School, and ST Gregory,s are Primary schools on the estate.
